Like all of my blog posts, I am designing this article to jolt an awakening in the reader. This is important to note before I start talking about my next topic, The Ego and “I”. Let me break it to you gently, we’re the devils. The Ego is the Devil to be exact. Your Ego has a name, everyone’s does and its all the same, “I” is the name. Anytime we refer to our Ego we say I. This refers to the single, seemingly separate unit that is our being. We have been indoctrinated our whole life’s to refer to ourselves as “I” without question.
If someone says “Hey You!” then we will turn our heads and respond. When do we ever start to ask the profound questions, who says I have to answer to titles placed on me by society and others like “You”. Same principle is involved when it comes to I. Why do we refer to ourselves in the singular with this word without question?
The truth is there is no singular “you” that you can refer to as “I”. There never has been and never will be. We are all connected and the illusion of separation is just that, an illusion. This is a deep well I am taking you down and the same thing can apply to words like it (which we use to refer to that which is not part of I/US) and others but lets focus for the time being just on the word I.
So your Ego is the part of you that feels like a separate individual but in truth is part of an expansive hidden network of entanglements which most refer to as “The Collective”. Try not using the work I for a day, pay attention to when you do use the word. There is a lot of power in the word but its mostly corrupted. Here is the sacred mystery of the Devil in all stories, it is referring to the Ego. The individual. The “I”. So whos your devil now and who birthed all your demons? I think if your with me still you can get an idea of what I am trying to say here.
“The ego itself is the devil. The source of all troubles.”
— Sri Ramana Maharshi
Are you confused yet? I hope you are (The devils rooting for you here apparently). The reason I hope your confused is not out of spite or pride but in the knowing that all great knowledge must be accompanied by a massive fog of confusion. The confusion will never last long and is always a great sign that your very close to understanding something. Our lightbulbs come on in Aha moments after the confusion leaves and we can never leave ignorance without traveling through the door of confusion. The only way to understand wisdom is to first be confused. I rejoice when I feel confused because it means soon I will understand something new. Think about it, get confused and then when this finally clicks into place shortly after you read my post, come back and leave a comment telling us about your experience of this truth. Try to politely confuse others in a sacred way as I have done to you.

In closing here I want to link a few songs for you to ponder. They both discuss the topic I have just disclosed to you in this post. Good luck getting anyone to tell you these things because honestly very few actually understand. The artists in these two songs certainly understand. Take a listen, they can help you understand too.
Wrapping Up with Key Insights
The esoteric mystery behind the devil is that it means the Ego. We English Speaking humans refer to our ego, our devil, as “I” without question or concern. The greatest truths will cause us the most confusion. Push through these clouds because they are an assured understanding just by their presence. Slipknot and other Artists like Switchfoot have been singing about this sacred mystery for a while. Those who are in the “know” and understand the symbols at play can learn a lot about their self and their personal psychology from Artists who create music like this, with mystical undertones. There is no singularity, we are all connected, we are all one. Don’t let the devil lie or make you believe we are not.
With Love and Light Yours Truly,
Frater Zac
